I love animals. Period. Interacting with our friends from the natural world is my greatest source of joy and I am very comfortable with all species, especially canines. I believe it is our duty as humans to protect, nurture and honor these noble creatures in return for the love and devotion they give to us. I would love the opportunity to help improve their lives as a dog walker/pet sitter. I strive for excellence in everything I do and I will apply that same tenacity to providing care and comfort to both the dogs and their owners.  All of my work experience has required constant interaction with people under minimal supervision. Thus, I pride myself on my ability to communicate effectively and clearly no matter whom I am talking to. My record with these companies indicates that I have the ability to independently handle multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced environment with the utmost care, organization and professionalism. Recently, I worked as a patient advocate for a medical testing facility. I had the pleasure of working with patients of many different cultural, religious, socioeconomic and linguistic backgrounds, which broadened my communication skills; helping them was by far the most rewarding part of my experience there.  My parents' dogs, Tony Montana and Frida Kahlo, are biological siblings from different litters. They are pure-bred Havanese whom my husband and I have sat for many times (for as long as a week and for a little as an overnight stay). During their visits with us, I have taken them to the vet (for both scheduled and emergency appointments), administered medication, fed them, bathed them, brushed their teeth, walked them, and carried them around when they were unable to walk (Tony had a torn ACL a couple of years ago, so carrying him was temporary--not to mention a complete pleasure. Frida's had surgery on her front leg so the winters are tough on those joints.) We have sat for them in their own home and had them sleep over at least once a year for their whole lives. It is my favourite time of the year when they come to visit. We have our own dog, Ruby Slippers, who is Tony and Frida's biological sister. And she is so happy to run around and play with her siblings! When my dog is happy, I'm happy. Plus, there is something so joyous about a house full of dogs; a warm, happy feeling fills the air when Tony and Frida come to stay with us. It is such a pleasure to interact with three dogs who have three distinct personalities. Being around them is a great reinforcement of how individual dogs really are and how special our relationship with them is.  I am a comedian, an actor, a writer, singer/songwriter and a visual artist seeking to generate my income solely from my creative work in the next five years. While I pursue my own artistic career, I want to give back to the community by providing quality care to the pups in my 'hood. There are few things more fulfilling than friendship with a dog, and I am eager to be a part of any opportunity to spend my days with humanity's best friend.  Can't wait to meet you and your furry bestie!
