Who I Am: Hello there! My name is Donna and I am 52 years old. I'm looking to find cat sitting positions within SE Michigan - I live in Auburn Hills. I am committed to being a loving animal advocate and a trustworthy person. My availability is flexible and open, based on your kitties needs. For many years, my friends have dubbed me a "cat whisperer" because of my love, patience, intuition and natural affinity with felines. I feel it is a calling for me to LOVE God's creatures, and especially cats, as much as I am able. Pets are our FAMILY. We have been given the privilege to be their guardians. I want to help cat guardians feel confident that while they are unable to be with their pet, for either a short time or a long time, their pet is being well loved, played with, and cared for, by someone like myself who adores animals. I love dogs very much also, but can only work with small or medium-sized dogs. Description of Skills: I have had kittens, cats, (& a dog) my entire life - mostly more than one at the same time. I can take care of maintaining pet health, provide lots of play time, cuddle time, love and clean litter boxes. I have my own transportation. Regarding my experience with cats: We have 3 young kitties and 1 senior kitty in our current indoor family. They are wonderful and love us back as much as we love them! I have been rescuing and finding homes for stray/abandoned kitties for almost 20 years and am caretaker for an outside feral/community colony. I am trained in TNR. I have experience through a local rescue as a Foster Kitty Mom, providing food, shelter, clean litter boxes, and lots of play, love & cuddles to train & socialize them in preparation to be adopted into a forever home. I also volunteer as a "Cat Comforter" at a shelter that is open to the public for adoptions. I give my time & experience providing attention & love to cats that do not receive constant human affection while living in cages until they are adopted. I enjoy reading about feline behavior which helps me to positively interact with cats of different ages, and handle behaviors cats exhibit. I have over 25 years paid employment experience, mostly in the social services sector working with seniors, adults and children who where disabled, mentally ill or in needy populations. I enjoy reading about animal behavior and I am currently writing a book about a feral cat's rescue and life transitioning to an indoor kitty. Actually, I believe it is the animal who rescues humans, and not the other way around. LOL!
