Pet Sitter in Laramie, Wyoming

I'm an
Individual
I am a zoology student at the University of Wyoming, and I am experienced in pet sitting both dogs and cats. In my past pet sitting jobs I have walked dogs, and groomed dogs and cats that I had to care for. I am comfortable with all animals and enjoy spending my time with them. I have pets of my own which include a rabbit, guinea pig, fish as well as two cats. In the past, I had stick insects, a ferret, and hedgehogs as pets. As previously mentioned I am experienced in pet sitting, and have had many pet sitting jobs. My first job was caring for my neighbors’ cats while the owners were away, and as I cared for them I would feed them, give them clean water, and give them attention. Two of the four cats were shy, but over time I was able to get close to them and even pet them. I have also cared for another neighbor’s dog while the owners were away. I would feed him, play with him, and take the dog on walks every day. This dog needed a lot of attention, so I would visit him frequently throughout the day. I have also taken two dogs into my home while the owner was away. The two dogs were only puppies at the time, so it gave me amazing experience in caring for young pets who need a little more attention. During Christmas break one year I cared for an owner’s dogs, cat, rabbit, chickens, and horses for two weeks. This job required going out to the house two or three times a day to feed all the animals, give them water, and to play with the dogs and cat. I really enjoyed this job, the pets I cared for each had a different personality. I got to know the personalities of chickens, which I hadn’t known much about before this job. The most recent experience I have had is volunteering to feed horses at a nonprofit organization which helps handicapped adults and children by offering riding lessons. Every Tuesday night I would go out to feed horses. I would have to move horses because not all horses needed grain, and other times I would have to make sure that once one horse finished eating it wouldn’t eat the food of another horse. After feeding I would prepare grain for the morning feeding, and clean any stalls that needed it. This was a valuable experience, because I learned how to work around horses and to lead them. I also learned how to brush them and clean out their hooves. I learned how to stay in control even with such large animals. To conclude I have experience with many kinds of animals as well as their different personalities. I am comfortable with all pets because of the many jobs which taught me important lessons on how to connect with animals especially since every animal had a different personality that I had to get to know. I have also had to learn how to work with animals like horses, that might be bigger, but who are also skittish and need a little more control and security. I really enjoy working with and caring for animals.
