I am retired and a homebody. I prefer overnight stays (the longer the better!) but also do drop-ins or daily sits. I have plenty of time to keep your pets cared for, loved, and feeling calm and relaxed while you are away from home. I travel throughout Florida for overnight pet care. My goal is to keep your pets happy and as stress free as possible while you are away. I love animals of all kinds and I love pet sitting. My companion and "business partner", is my own best buddy, Knight, a small, 16 y/o short haired Mini Rat Terrier. Knight is also a service dog. He is well-mannered and happiest when we are working. He loves other dogs and cats, was raised and trained the first year of his life with large breed dogs as well as other Rat Terriers. We have worked together for 15 years now. From small dogs and cats to Bull Mastiffs and Great Danes, he loves their company. I am told by my regular clients that their pets are calm and happy when they return home. This tells them their animals have been happy in their absence. My goal is also to help balance and calm your pet if he/she is anxious or nervous when you are first away, and I expect them to be, at first. That is normal, so I make special allowances for that. I chose only jobs that I can match my energy with your pet's energy. For example, if your dog requires a 5 mile run a day, I would respectfully decline the pet sit. I respect the pet owner's rules, boundaries, and limitations, maintaining your leadership. I require a detailed written or printed list of schedule, needs, special needs or problems, (especially if daily medications or injections are required) food/treat amounts and locations of such, vet contact information, contact information if house maintenance problems arise. I also require that I be able to contact you in a reasonably quick time frame. This is your precious pet and I do not want to make decisions, that prayerfully never arise, about emergency care, without speaking with you. I expect you to be able to converse with your vet if there is ever a problem and to instruct your vet as to the decisions to be made for the care of your beloved pet. I fully respect, understand and honor, the trust you are placing in me to care for this much loved member of your family. I empathize with the fact you are uncomfortable to leave them behind and they are probably confused, anxious, and fearful. I will prayerfully do my very best to make this a happy and calm separation from you.
