My name is Drew, and I am hoping to find an animal care taking position in Champaign or surrounding areas. I am an animal lover myself, and I would be more than happy to be able to take care of your pets! I have my own car, so transportation will be no problem. I am available very often throughout the week, and my schedule is pretty flexible to fit your needs. I am very experienced in the care taking of animals, with both professional and informal experience. Experience: -During my first year of undergrad at the University of Minnesota, I took care of non-human primates in a research lab, feeding them and maintaining a clean environment for them to live in. - I volunteer at the Champaign County humane society's medical lab, so I have had extensive training on giving otic, oral, and topical medication, as well as recognizing signs and symptoms of a sick pet. Part of my training at the humane society also included how to safely walk dogs of any size and strength, and I walk the dogs there on a regular basis. - I work rotating weekends at Country View Vet Clinic here in Champaign. The title of my job is "Animal Caretaker" and my duties include taking dogs outside for exercise and playtime, cleaning kennels and litter boxes, and feeding/watering the animals that are boarding there - If your animal requires medicine via injections, you're in luck! I have 5 years of personal experience giving insulin to my dog with diabetes, so I am more than comfortable administering injections to your pet if necessary - I took care of my neighbor's dog throughout high school, which sometimes included staying overnight.
