I'm an
Individual
Summary: As a horse professional, I have been training horses for fifteen years and have been riding most of my life and continue to have a passion for the equine world. One life goal I have always had is to continuously pursue the mentality of a lifelong student, and to that end, increasing my knowledge of all the different aspects of the equine world. In pursuit of constant learning, I have developed a list of skills that can benefit the student or the horse. I tailor my lessons to either the excited new or young rider as well as help refine a more developed rider into a healthy relationship with the horse world. Through my many years of observing/learning equine behavior, I have become comfortable and confident in fostering a healthy relationship with the horse in order to improve their mental and behavioral health. Goals: I began as a Hunter Jumper student and event participant. While I love the competition, I have always been drawn to the health and wellbeing of the horse and creating a safe and healthy barn environment for horses and the students/riders/owners. I want to continue the pursuit of training and caring for horses as well as being a part of the leadership in a barn management business. Introduction to Halter, proper crosstie behavior, develop healthy ground manners Introduction to first saddle with no to limited ‘bucking’ Desensitization training to install confidence through flag and trap work Develop balanced walk, trot, canter Student Lesson Program: Facilitate a feeling of safety for each student as to their environment both physically and emotionally. Demonstrate basic equine safety, educating as to horse anatomy, healthy routines and equine behavior Assist each student as they find their confident seat and the joy of building a relationship with their horse As an instructor I believe it is important that students understand the joy of building a relationship with one of God’s most beautiful creatures and in that a deeper knowledge of God and His love for us. I set goals for my students and work together as a team to achieve those goals. I realize not all students will become lifelong ridders; however, I do believe these lessons will apply as they persevere throughout their life. Additional Horse Training: Working with roping/ranch horses, hunter jumping training/competitions, trail horses, barrel and reining horses Working through numerous equine behavior issues with positive results Working with each horse, teaching from where they are to where they can be Train unridden mustang to pasture family pet to improve relationship between horse and rider Working with ‘dangerous’ horses bringing them to respect themselves and their riders
