Application: Hello Pet owners of North Texas! My name is Kamala and I have recently moved here to Texas to better myself and work on my future. When I was 18 I thought my passion was teaching, specifically kids in school. I started attending college to become a teacher but quickly found that i didn't agree with what they expected from us. Since then I've been trying to find what my real passion is. I've loved animals since I can remember, all of them. It wasn't until last year when I started working as a bather at Pet Smart that I realized what my true passion was. Animals! I love animals! I love being able to give them the proper care that they deserve, I love talking about them, learning about them, handling them, showing them off and informing and helping people with their pet needs and questions they might have. I have a never-ending excitement for pets I love meeting the ones that are brought into the store or even ones walking down the road. I've decided that I want to go back to college for zoology and that someday I WILL work at a zoo. This is part of my start to achieving that dream. I have worked with and owned a variety of animals myself throughout the years (dogs, cats, hamsters, lizards and snakes bearded dragons leopard gecko, Chinese water dragons, birds etc.) I would like to use this as an opportunity to gain myself more experience as well as connections, references, and use the money I earn to put towards college. Description of Skills: I understand that every pet is different and has different needs and personalities and I am able to be very flexible for your pet to make them feel most comfortable. The strongest skill I would say I have in this area is the ability to love and help the pet feel loved and reduce their anxiety they might have being away from you. I have experience with feeding dogs, cats, birds, fish, reptiles, snakes, hamsters, mice, rats, guinea pig etc. Administering medication to sick and/ or older pet. (I administer treatment to sick animals at Pet Smart as well as pets at home). I am able to bath dogs as well as trim and grind nails and am able to trim uncontained butt fur and foot fur and remove matts they might get. Helping pets get proper exercise. I am also available for overnight watches. Further, I have a driver’s license as well as a car. I have plenty of detailed experience if you wish to know more please ask!
