I volunteered at Heartland animal shelter for 15 years on Friday night feeding cats, tidying litter boxes, walking dogs and socializing the animals. I also had a hospice cat from Specialty Purebred Cat Rescue that I took care of for two years (He lived much longer than they expected). The black Labrador is an alumni from Heartland that went on to get her therapy international title so she could go to nursing homes. The picture is taken at the Outer Banks of North Carolina where we rented a Ford Transit (large vehicle) and vacationed with three large dogs at dog friendly resorts. I am comfortable giving the animal its space till it is used to me and I am meticulous in following directions for its care.
