Pet Sitter in Alexandria, Virginia

Good morning! My name is Preston Young, originally from Cleveland, Ohio but living here in Alexandria with my wife of 31 years and our son (11 yrs old) and a 5th grader at Hollin Meadows Elementary off of Sherwood Hall Lane. My wife works for the Alexandria Gazette in Old Town and the family owned a shoe store on King Street for over 40 years. I have been a Draftsman/Computer-aided Draftsman for over 30 years. We have been back and forth from Cleveland to Alexandria since we moved to Cleveland in 1988. We moved back here in 2014 to help take care of my mother-in-law who is suffering from Alzheimers...very horrible disease! My wife and I have rescued, not fostered, but RAISED 13 cats in our home over the last 35 years. Most have obviously passed on but they lived very long and healthy lives. My son loves our cats so much that he wants to be a vet. I am not a so-called professional...who goes to school to take care of animals...probably only vets. But I have nurtured and loved more cats than you could imagine, and it started out with the cats my family and my wife's family had when we were kids (many moons...long ago!). I'm still pursuing my career in the engineering field but opportunities have yet to open up...God willing they will! But until then, I would love to lend a hand if need be. As I said, I am not a professional, but I have uncanny experience...and that is "hands-on" experience with our feline friends! I could talk for days about my cats which we love and have loved dearly...we even take care of and feed 3 strays that have been in the neighborhood for years. It's somewhat crazy because we have two black cats and the 3 that live outside are also black! never seen that many black cats in my life let alone on the same property. Maybe that's why my luck has been so bad...continually letting black cats cross my path...but they're beautiful!!! Feel free to call anytime...morning, noon or night.
