I'm a young, active student looking to keep myself (and your dogs!) busy and engaged with the community and all it has to offer. I have experience with handling dogs in a variety of settings, from retail stores to the middle of the wilderness, and I'm prepared to give your dog a fun, stimulating experience going on little adventures around the neighborhood. Dogs are bursting with personality, ready to go-go-go, and incredibly in-tune with the world around them. I try to at least match that, but of course, no human can do it better than a dog! I've been walking dogs and dog-sitting in my neighborhood and for family friends for as long as I can remember, from puppies to golden girls, and I've always enjoyed getting to know the dogs and their owners, quirks and all. Unfortunately, my current situation doesn't allow me to own a dog of my own, so I have to get my doggie fix elsewhere. I can honestly say that I've never done it for the money, either. I just really like having an interesting new companion on walks, on hikes, and on a stranger's couch while I dog-sit. I've also been trained by a large retail pet store on the most critical parts of being responsible for someone else's dog: knowing the signs of urgent distress, dislodging objects from the dog's throat (AKA doggie heimlich), and how to best safely break up a dog fight. I pride myself on my commitment to safety and attentiveness when I'm interacting with dogs. I hope that your dog and I can have fun together until you get home to have your own bonding time. And if I can save even one pair of shoes, or a crate, or a much-beloved heirloom, from bored puppy destruction, I'll consider my job well worth it.
