Individual
Welcome! If I had the choice of becoming a multi-millionaire, being able to fly, or having my pets live as long as I might, I would choose the latter… My name is Codie, and I am the founder of Suite Paws Pet Care in Nanoose Bay, BC. I am delighted to offer you professional pet care services as a fun, loving, and reliable dog walker, pet enricher (drop-ins) and house sitter. I am accepting new clients, and I offer full-time availability. Those who know me know I have much love to give, so connecting with animals naturally comes to me. My energy is calming and grounding, and I focus on establishing trust right from the moment I meet your pet. I use emotional intelligence and empathy to meet animals on their level, learning what makes them tick and thrive. I gauge their energy and observe their interactions to help me better understand them. I am a fan of positive affirmations and structure. I love to walk with dogs, especially long distances. You can usually find me with dogs at a beach when the tide is out playing chuck-it—in other words, heaven to me! I started S U I T E P A W S when I got a puppy halfway through the pandemic to get outside more and socialize with her, and I’ve never looked back! Out of all of my job experiences, this one is by far the most rewarding, and I am so excited to be able to offer fun, loving, and reliable care for your precious pets. The only downside of being a pet care provider is that I end up missing your pets, so we might have to schedule playdates to keep our bond going 😊 So far, I have only had enjoyable and successful pet care experiences. With people being able to travel again and return to their offices, it’s my pleasure to offer a sense of relief and comfort to you and your pets. Personally, I know I would have a hard time selecting a pet care provider, so I understand all of your questions and concerns. Do not hesitate to ask for my reliable references and anything else you may need to feel more at ease. PLEASE NOTE: Many clients have come to me outside of Rover, all of whom are repeat clients with 5-star reviews. References are available by request. EXPERIENCE: The many dogs I’ve been honoured to care for have been some of my most outstanding teachers. They’ve enriched my life in ways I never imagined possible, which pushes me to be the best pet care provider I can be as a student, teacher and caregiver. I’ve spent time with all ages, breeds, sizes and temperaments. I have cared for anxious, shy, and nervous pets and have only had positive experiences and excellent feedback. I have done short-term pet and longer gigs spanning a month—whatever you need, I am flexible. I have several ongoing dog walking clients every week. I have also done plenty of drop-ins for pets and insurance purposes for those who travel for extended periods. I have been blessed with extraordinary pets in my lifetime. When I was ten years old, we got our first dog Sammy, a 120 lb Shephard/Malamute, and he was the best family dog we could have asked for. We grew up together; he was our protector/babysitter while Mum and Dad built their business. Our gentle giant Sammy opened my world to communicating with animals, which I am passionate about. In my opinion, it’s one of the greatest mysteries of all time. I am determined to learn as much as possible. My second dog/best friend is my 16-month-old earth angel Misha. She is the most gentle, loving and brave little pup. She’s only 20lbs, but her size has never stopped her! Whether she’s playing with a Great Dane triple her size, swimming in new waterbodies, trying new tricks, or meeting new dogs, she goes for it with an open heart. Watching her blind faith is inspiring, and she continues to teach me how to tackle the uncertainties of life with grace and grit. Misha is more than happy to join me with your pets. She’s a lovely girl and has stayed with me during some house-sitting jobs. You can follow her adventures on Instagram: miss. misha.pomsky BACKGROUND: I have lived on Vancouver Island since I was five years old and in Nanoose Bay for 20 years. I’m an avid walker and explorer, so I enjoy getting to know all the dog-friendly trails and beachscapes our area offers. I adore animals with all of my heart, and I always go out of my way to ensure we have an engaging and fun time. In 2019 I left the corporate world to be my own boss and freelance as a copywriter and social media specialist. Eventually, I want my pet care business to be my full-time career. I’ve got many plans, so stay tuned for some exciting parts of this venture! I am available seven days a week, offering full-time availability. I currently dog walk four days a week and am accepting new clients for all pet care services (dog walking, drop-ins, house-sitting). MY GUARANTEE: I am here to help you bring you and your pets joy and a sense of relief. I aim to provide a quality service. I offer my time and complete attention to your pets with the utmost care and love. I guarantee that your dog will be content, entertained, safe, well-exercised, and fed. You can expect numerous photo and video updates throughout the day. I am also more than happy to FaceTime with you to check in anytime! As your house sitter, I am very clean, tidy and organized. My routine has always been to get the house in order before I go to sleep or start my day wherever I go. There’s something to be said about coming home to a clean house after travelling. Several clients have told me their house is cleaner than how they left it! Essentially, I am a fun loving, compassionate person who enjoys being active, affectionate and playful with animals.
