Overview: My name is Afton. I am a certified Vet Assistant and am in college studying Zookeeping and Zoology. I grew up around dogs, cats, fish, and small animals such as hamsters, guinea pigs, and lizards. I have wanted to work with animals since I was 5, and have since centered my goals and life plan around this passion. I have taken care of numerous pets over the last 3 years. I work with dogs at a kennel for a living and have volunteered at a shelter. I have two pups of my own who I love very much. Special Skills: I am certified through Arapahoe Community College as a Vet Assistant. Through these classes, I learned how to administer medications to animals, how to perform CPR and Heimlich on dogs, cats, and even small mammals, and what foods and chemicals are toxic to pets. I also learned the proper handling of exotics like birds and rabbits. Rest assured that your pet is in great hands with me! Availability: Currently, my classes at Pikes Peak Community College are online, so I have very flexible availability. I also have my own car, meaning I can travel as needed to take care of your furry friends. I can drop by your house to feed your pets, stay overnight while you're out of town, and walk your dogs when you don't have the time. While watching your pets, I can give baths, medications, walks, and snuggles as requested!
