Services And Training: I have experience with cat feeding, caring for multiple varieties of animals. providing play time, and special attention based on your kitties personalities I am the owner of Guardian Pet Care Services. I've been working part-time as a pet sitter / house sitter for 19 years. I started the business while I was working as a Law Enforcement Officer here in Charlotte Co and Hendry County. I am presently retired due to severe on the job injuries. I was forced for medical reasons to retire after 23 years. I was a K-9 Handler for ,12 yrs of my L.E career. I've cared and loved animals of all types my entire life. As a youth I was in 4H for several years, was the president of the club and professionally as a young teen competed against adult competitors showing pure bred rabbits. I've raised a variety of birds, rabbits, show Guinea pigs, ferrets. I have ,3 of my own kitties and raised many while they still needed to be nursed. I bottle fed them. I presently reside on a farm where I assist in the care of many animals from nursing injured back to health to waking all hours of the night to bottle feed many different types..... baby animals. As a L.E officer in Hendry County which is a very.low income county mainly in the farming business. The Clewiston Animal Shelter was a 90kill shelter when I worked the area. My first week working L.E in Hendry County I rescued, 17 kittens set to be euthanized. I paid for their first shots out of pocket and had each spayed or neutered at my expense. I utilized my contacts in Charlotte Co to find homes for each kitten some that still required nursing. It's rewarding opportunity to help an innocent life but the work is very time consuming and at times heartbreaking. But, I believe that giving any life a chance versus automatic death is well worth the time. I also placed some dogs to prevent euthanasia but their policy was the States mandatory min. of.hold which at the time was 5 days. My shift was 12 hours long if my paperwork was completed at end of your. If not my shift ended when the paperwork was completed. It was an hour drive from Charlotte Co to Clewiston.and another hour home after my patrol car was dropped off.. If I had agreed to place a pet for Animal control I took kennels to work with me, arranged with my supv to keep them in the office until end of your. I would load Everyone into my patrol care, drive to LaBelle Office and move everyone to my personal veh.. Then call the future parents for their arrival. I believe animals are a lot like children and because they lack the ability to speak a language we easily understand they are seen by too many humans as disposable. From my blessed experiences over the years with many different types of animals like humans they each have their own unique personality, their own demeanor ( likes & dislikes), if u take the time to make them member's of your family you can see and learn their way of communication. What it is they want without a verbal explanation. I use children as an example because as u probably Know being a pet parent is much like having children. They rely on us for food, water, meds when needed, treats, play, brushing of hair or fur, and to know when there is a problem like them not feeling well whether it be physical signs or just in the way they are acting which is not the normal you know of them. They greet us excitedly much like young children, no matter how bad we feel, look, or our mood does not stop them from loving us and though with some.more than others you can tell when we have made them mad but most are very forgiving and nothing more then a stroke of the ears, chin or back makes everything in their world perfect or in the case of kitties (Purr-fect) Lol. We as humans could learn a lot from animals if we took the time. From how to forgive, patience, unconditional love, to parenting. As humans u would expect every human to have the love and devotion towards any child perfect or take time to learn. You would not expect abuse, neglect, or humans to take the life of a child intentionally. The word "animal" is often used as slang when describing a horrible human. But most animals are the best parents caring for multiples not just the standard 1 or maybe 2 human children. Many bird species both parents take turns sitting on the eggs, or bringing food home to feed the parent sitting on the nest. Once the babies hatch they share the responsibility of raising the babies, gathering food, while the other watches over the babies. Then they share the responsibility of teaching their young to survive on their own, and how to fly. I see all animals as a gift. Whether it be by interaction with them and their willingness to so easily forgive us for our angry outbursts, or just the ability to watch and admire their God given beauty, their songs of joy, Watching as 2 kittens or 2 puppies play falling over one another, their innocence much like that of a child. They will be by your side when upset, sad, or sick... To say they are anything less than an amazing gift that deserves all the consideration of a human life is sadly a huge mistake.
