Pet Sitter in Elmhurst, Illinois

I'm a twenty-six year old animal lover currently living in Elmhurst, IL. I have a very open schedule and a love for all animals. I am very comfortable with clingy animals and do not force my affection on more shy ones, I always try to make sure the animal's emotional needs are met as well as basic care. I also always wear a mask when conversing with people, even though the mandates have lifted. I'm most comfortable with dogs and cats but I am familiar with some exotic pets as well, such as some reptiles and rodents. I, however, do not have experience with insects or arachnids such as scorpions and tarantulas, centipedes, etc. Dogs: I have lots of family who work with dogs, I live with a dog groomer as well as a dog rescue coordinator. We've fostered many, many, dogs out of our home. I have experience with dogs of all age ranges including seniors and puppies of multiple breeds and sizes as levels of health. Currently we have a Newfoundland with pancreatic issues who receives food supplements at every meal. For over-night petsitting I have a adequate, fenced in yard and I'm within walking distance of Eldridge Park which has dog friendly paths. I also own many crates if your dog prefers sleeping in a crate, we currently have a few dogs in the house who crate feed and often enjoy sleeping in their crates. I've fostered dogs through medical issues as well as post-surgery care. I fostered a dog a few years ago who had severe entropion surgically corrected in both her eyes, lots of spays/neuters as well. I do have some experience with dogs that have food aggression but please be upfront about any behavioral issues your dog may have so I'm prepared. Cats: I have plenty of experience with cats and have assisted in raising two litters of kittens in my life. Exotics: I have lots of experience with rats, tortoises, fish and rabbits. I have moderate experience with bearded dragons. I have never worked with snakes but I am willing to learn! I do plenty of research beforehand (time allowing). I also have a tight network of people who work with exotics, so I will never fully be a fish out of water. $12 per hour is my minimum. That usually covers one household, I do not charge more for special care pets, but excessive numbers of pets may warrant an increase to my rates. Please discuss further with me!
