I am a biologist and I am currently working at a bird hospital as a tech but also have experience with cats, dogs and fish! I used to work at the aquarium and another animal hospital :) As a pet owner myself (I have the cutest green cheek conure in the world aka Ketchup), I understand how difficult it can be to leave our beloved ones behind when we need to go away.
