I am a retired person who has taken up working with animals to pass the time and enjoy myself. Have always had pets including dogs: show german shepperd, cats, birds, gerbils and horses. In fact, I used to compete Paso Fino horses in PR. Dogs are very loving and they know when someone really cares for them. I used to have a Weimaraner that would jump in bed with me and spoon when I fell asleep. She loved to take longs walks and drank water from a bottle. Many people believe that when you take a dog to training it is to instruct the animal, when in fact, training is more for the owner than for the pet. It teaches you to be a better pet owner and caregiver. You learn patience and understanding of these beautiful, faithful creatures. I have had up to 3 cats at a time living together with dogs and frankly it is a great family setting. Up to the time I was about 10, I lived on a farm where my grandparents had a dairy operation. I learned to milk cows and go with my grandmother in her pick up to cut grass for the animals. There were chickens, geese, cats and dogs as well. My first dog was a circus performer given to me by a crew member on a Spanish frigate; his name was Maxi.
