Pet Owner in Ithaca
Our family of five (my wife, my 13 year old son, our dog, "Bozeman" and cat, "Dot) live in the Belle Sherman area of Ithaca, NY. As I travel a fair amount for work, and we take occasional short vacations, we are often in need of someone to feed and more importantly spend some time with Bozeman and/or Dot. Bozeman is a ~6 year year old mix, most likely part English Pointer and part black Lab. He is a rescue dog, originally from Kentucky, that we brought home from Cayuga Dog Rescue in December 2015. He is very sweet and loves people, other dogs, and cats. He is extremely affectionate. We're not sure how old Dot is. We brought her home in September 2015 from a friend that could not keep her due to allergies. She is also very friendly and affectionate. At times, we wonder if she is really a cat as she doesn't exhibit the standoffish, independent behavior common with many cats. She is happy sitting on your lap or just "close" (within petting range). She will even let you rub her tummy. She is an indoor car. Period. She won't try to venture outside even if the door is left wide open. Other than a strong desire for affection, both Bozeman and Dot are very low maintenance.
