Are you thinking about going on vacation and worried about who will take care of you special animal loved ones while you are away? Are you discouraged by the price of boarding your pet or worried about the stress your animal friend will experience in a strange place often crammed with other animals? I offer in-home pet sitting to your special friends, regardless of what you have as an extended family member! I am personally a cat and snake owner, and have years of experience in caring for a variety of animals, including dogs, reptiles, birds, fish, and even arachnids. So if your pet has two legs, four legs, eight legs, or no legs, I can help! And there is no need to upset your pet by taking them to a strange location (cats, birds, and reptiles seem particularly susceptible to this kind of stress). I can travel to your home where they are familiar, and can engage in their own variety of play and relaxation. A Little About Myself: I have just recently moved to the area from Texas after having completed my Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice with the hopes of starting a new and better life. But that does take time and there are a lot of hoops to jump through in obtaining state or law enforcement work, so I am looking to engage in an activity I enjoy such as interacting with animals while I line everything up for my new career in criminal justice. I have worked for the last 3.5 years as a correctional officer for the state of Texas. I believe in honesty, integrity, and the law, so if you are engaged in illegal activities please do not contact me as this creates a conflict with my career goals. What I Require: All persons seeking pet care services should call me for an appointment where we can meet in a public place and get to know one another. I certainly do not mind anyone who wants to photograph me or run a background check on me as I have never had anything more than a couple of speeding tickets. I am willing to answer any questions you have about me. If you feel comfortable at that point, we can go to your home and meet your pets. You need to have available the following items or information: 1) Your emergency contact information 2) Vet contact information including after hours emergency numbers and locations 3) Vaccination records if applicable (I am not so strict on this for pets that are entirely indoor animals, such as a cat that is never let outside, but if you want me to take your dog outside of the house this is an absolute must!) 4) Adequate supply of pet's food and treats 5) List of special needs the pet may have and the items required to fulfill those needs (such as enough medication to last the duration of your trip, or special exercise needs and equipment) 6) Adequate sanitation equipment to address general sanitation needs and possible accidents...if your furry friend tends to get upset at you leaving and say makes a mess on your bed to show you how upset s/he is, have no fears I know how to get that smell and stain out of almost anything...I have a rather fussy cat who can be like this if I am gone longer than he thinks is warranted :P Also, please tell me about the quirks your pet has, and unusual characteristics that may be a sign of illness. For example, my cat Jack is an escape artist, and he's fast about trying to shoot out the door the second it is opened. He also tends to fast (go off his food) when he is upset or ill, and his skin may look red and irritated if he is having a problem with allergens. Some cats are lazy, others are hyper. Knowing what is normal for your pet will help me know when there is something wrong so that I can respond to it effectively. What I charge: For each day that you want me to visit your home, there is an initial charge of $15 to cover transportation, feeding, sanitation, and an observation of behavior/checking on specified health issues. After that I charge $10 an hour if you want me to provide company and play for your friend. These sessions will be scheduled in advance, and payment is expected prior to your departure. You are responsible for the costs associated with any emergency vet visits including exams, medications, treatments, and follow ups, but you will be notified before I take your friend to the vet if at all possible so that you can coordinate with your vet about the preferred method of treatment.
