My work experience has prepared me for employment working with dogs as a Pet Sitter / Dog Walker / Dog Trainer Position. I passed the Dog Training Program at Petco in Brentwood on 12-7-11 to become a Certified Dog Trainer. I now have my Petco Dog Training Certificate. For the past 10 years, I have taken care of dogs of all sizes. My responsibilities include overnights, feeding and walking dogs, giving dogs medication when necessary. I even do house sitting. I treat the pets as if they were my own. I would even take dogs to the dog park, so they could socialize and be with their friends. My passion for my love of animals started when I was a kid growing up with many different kinds of animals, including dogs, cats, birds, rabbits & guinea pigs. I would also help train the owner's pets so the dog would become better behaved. For example, I have a friend who had dog who would bark in the car and I was able to make him stop all barking in the car. I would only use positive reinforcement with the dogs. My thoughts on dog training are using positive reinforcement to get the dog to do what I want. I never, under any circumstances, hit, yell, etc. any dog for any reason. If I want a dog to do what I want I use food, praise or toys to motivate the dog to do what I asked. I find the dog responds better to positive, consistent, repetitive training the dog responds very well. All the dog wants to do is to please. Thank you for your time and consideration.
