Don't worry about your dog while you're away! When you leave your baby with Sitting Pretty Dog Boarding, they will be treated like royalty! I know I would want my dog to be taken care of well. So my goal is to give your dog everything they need to have a fun and happy stay with me. Let me know if they have any special accommodations. We can work together to make your pup's stay be as smooth as possible. We have a large chain link fenced-in bark park in our apartment complex where your dog can safely play. Our neighborhood is extremely dog friendly and we often take long walks with the neighbors. **We do live in a second floor apartment with carpeted stairs immediately inside the front door. If your dog is a recovering from surgery or has joint problems, we may not be the right fit! I am able to carry small dogs up and down the stairs, but larger dogs may need to find another place to stay.** My dog Stella loves new friends and gets along with all dogs! I have yet to meet a pup she has not gotten along with although meet n' greets are welcome and encouraged to make sure the chemistry is all good! Stella is an American Bulldog and just turned 1. We also have two cats, Charlie is our 3-year-old and little Piper is just 4 months old. Both cats get along great with other dogs and have plenty of high places to hide if they need to get away. I am an Event Manager and my husband is a Firefighter. Our flexible careers make it easy for us to be home and spend time with our (and your) pets. When I am not traveling for events, I work almost exclusively at home, except for the occasional client meeting. Playtime Playtime is encouraged as much as possible! Tug of war, fetch, running around, belly rubs, and tons of petting are all included. My dog Stella is a non-stop playing machine and I guarantee your pup to be worn out! I generally encourage the the dogs to play together, but if I feel they are getting too rough or if an older dog is getting tired, I have child gates to separate dogs to get some alone time, take a nap and eat. This way, everyone is happy and safe. Potty Breaks I like to take pups out as often as possible. Generally, it's every 2-4 hours. If your dog is used to being crated, then bring their crate and I will be more than happy to crate them at your request. Trusted dogs may be left out if we do a trial run first! Meet n' greets definitely help with figuring out the best solution. Treats I like to give my guests treats for FREE! We give Stella milk bones, but if you are more comfortable with another type of treat, feel free to pack it in your dog's overnight bag! Bed Time We sleep with Stella in our bed, so if your dog prefers to be cuddled at night, just let me know. If they do better sleeping in a crate, they're more than welcome to sleep there too. Flexibility Early drop-offs and late pick-ups are no problem. I am an event planner, I know how to be flexible and understand that things don't always happen the way we want them to. So if you need to change your pick up time, just let me know. I can also provide the service of pick-up or drop-off for just $7 if that makes things easier for you. Our Parenting Style Stella is a family member to me and my husband. We want the pups that stay with us to be as comfortable as possible - not locked up all day. I will crate only if necessary at your request. So whatever routines you want your dog to follow, let me know and I will do the same to keep the wanted behavior. About Us I am an Event Manager and my husband is a Firefighter. When I am not traveling for events, I work almost exclusively at home except for the occasional client meeting. We have no kids, so your dog and Stella will be the center of our attention. New to Private Boarding? First step, contact me and tell me about your doggy (name, breed, size and energy level is good). Then, we'll talk about when we're able to set up a meet n’ greet! I will give you my address once we settle on a date and time for our meet n’ greet. Meet n' Greets I will have you call or text upon arrival so I can place Stella and the cats in the back bedroom. I will greet you, then ask you to come in with your dog. Once your dog is comfortable, I will let Stella out to say hello! If we both agree it's going to be a good fit, you can book the stay whenever you'd like. Prior to the booking, I will confirm the time for drop off to make sure everything is good. When you drop your dog off for their stay, please follow the same guidelines as listed above for the meet n’ greet. What to bring? Food (I do not provide dog food, only treats!) Leash Collar Crate Optional: Treats/bones Toys Blankets Food/Water bowls Medication, if necessary During Their Stay I send pictures and updates daily. I'll let you know how they are getting along so your mind can be at ease while your away. It is common for your pup not to eat too much during their stay. Dogs can get stressed out and lose their appetite. I'll keep you updated if I am concerned they're not eating at all. It really helps me out to keep me updated if times change for pick-ups or drop offs. I am very flexible, but please keep in mind that it makes it difficult for me if I don't have enough heads up to plan accordingly. Please Note I do require that all pups that come to my house are vaccinated and flea free!
