Hi, I'm Laurie Gilson. I have a small business and work from home that I have owned and managed for 19 years in medical reports and transcription. It keeps me available to do other things when I need to. My children are grown, and I have been looking for something fun like this to make some extra money. I think you would find me very qualified to help you. I've had a horse since I was 10 years old, and still do. He is currently boarded at Rocky Creek Farms, and is a senior at this point. We keep him because he is family, and we know what happens to old horses that aren't wanted or useful anymore. I've had cats and dogs and wild animals all through my life. We raised seven possums when the mother was killed by a dog and then released them to Juniper springs. All but one, who was sort of a disabled possum I guess, we kept him because we didn't think he would make it in the wild. That was Nosy. I had a guinea pig when I was small, but haven't had one since then. I remember letting her out and cleaning her cage and feeding and handling her. She was so great! That was Piglet. Also, I always take care of the horses at the farm when the owner needs time off, and also actually ran a stable for a short time when I was a teenager and my parents had some land. I later moved to Lexington, Kentucky, and worked with thoroughbred yearlings, and taking them to the sales. That entailed cleaning the barns, grooming the yearlings, and handling them.
