Pet Sitter in Ravenna, Ohio

Hi, My name is Christina and I am actually pretty new to the area. When I was in High School my first job was at Vestavia Animal Clinic. While working there I took care of dogs, cats, and a 12 foot albino python. The work included walking the dogs, cleaning their runs, feeding and watering, bathing, clipping nails, and just plain loving on them as much as possible. The cats were a little different. They didn't enjoy being in their stall and would be frightened a lot. I would ease my way into their area and be as kinda and soft spoken as possible. Once I felt the cat was calm I would proceed to take one out, interact with it and let it investigate its surroundings. Once everything was settled, I would proceed to clean their stall; Changing litter, making sure there was plenty of water and food. Once I finished cleaning, I'd give each one some love (well the ones that would let me) and return them to their stall. I typically spent about 20 minutes playing with them, but I was at work and couldn't spend my whole shift playing. It was rewarding to be trusted by pet owners, to see their animals light up and vice versa. Quick story, I was living in Alabama when Hurricane Katrina hit and our clinic was overstocked with pets. We made the best of it. It was an extremely hard time for everyone in the south. I spent nights at the clinic with about 15 dogs in the attic. None of them were in crates or runs. They all got along great and it was almost like they knew something wasn't right. Its an experience I'll never forget..and that was over 15 years ago. To look back on my life and see how happy those people were to be reunited with their pets gives me reason to believe I am here for something. Maybe that something is taking care of pets, the way I would do my own. Speaking of my own..I have a bird named Cinderella, two cats Jasmine and Bella, and three bunnies Hershey, Twix, and Cotton.
