I have been working with dogs in a professional manner since 2010, when I started fostering puppies and dogs while working on a university internship. I started with puppies that required some socialization and basic training before the organization put them up for adoption. During my three years with them, I learned to work with the puppies, as well as some of the older and harder cases from senior members of the team. I took this experience to work in Peterborough, where I became a very successful trainer at a pet store. Although I started as a part-time pet trainer, I soon became their Support Manager with allowance to continue to part-time train. During my time there, I learned more about dogs and training, but I also learned about working with Pet Parents and meeting their needs. Both my Pet Parents and my employers had a lot of trust and faith in my abilities as both a manager and a pet trainer. I took all this experience when we moved to Sarnia and opened my own canine services business here, The Sophisticated Dog, to provide quality canine care by someone who doesn't just love dogs, but is also an experienced professional trainer. I am insured, bonded and have my business license.
