The next time you need some assistance with your animals, whether during a workday, a vacation, an illness or injury, I would love the opportunity to help. I truly enjoy getting to know animals and their people, and providing the best possible care. In addition to a biology degree, I have decades of experience managing horse farms, raising and training dogs and horses, managing dog boarding and daycare, and caring for all sorts of other livestock and pets. I have also worked in veterinary hospitals for both large and small animals. I will care for your animals, and your home, as if they were my own. I can meet your farrier or vet, take your pet to a grooming appointment, or help with almost anything else you can think of. If you're on vacation, I can also bring in your mail and turn lights on or off at different times of day. I earned a B.S. in Biology from Geneseo with a fourth-year focus on Equine Science in Ireland. Then, as the stable manager for Leg Up Stables, I continued to learn about working with animals in as natural a way as possible to keep them healthy and happy. I gained valuable knowledge of training, husbandry, and behavior (human and animal) on the farm and at the Livonia Veterinary Hospital. Later, I went on to further to expand my skills and knowledge at Rood and Riddle Equine Hospital (as an overnight nurse in the Intensive Care Unit), Mill Creek Farm Thoroughbreds (foaling, general horse care, handling stallions, etc.), Benson’s Pet Centers (learning about pet nutrition as well as caring for several species of birds, rodents, arachnids, and reptiles), Dog Logic and GFK9 (dog daycare, boarding, grooming, and training). I also ran a successful horse boarding, training, and lesson program at my own farm. In 2016, my husband Doug was offered an opportunity outside of Cleveland, so we left NY and are learning about all that northeast Ohio has to offer.
