Pets are like family members and I treat them as if they are my own and keep families updated while they are away. In the past I've done overnight stays at a home when looking after a dog and this can be negotiated. My first pet was a tortoise shell tabby cat that was due to be put down. She was full of personality and always kept us on our toes! My second cat was a gorgeous red-point Himalayan that it's owner could no longer keep. He was self sufficient, regal and loyal. My current cat is an orange tabby that we rescued from the animal shelter and seems to confuse himself with a dog some days. He has an interesting personality and always makes us laugh. Additionally, I also owned a golden retriever who I absolutely adored and that loved going to puppy play group, as well as a hamster and goldfish. I've done pet sitting for over 10 years which has included dogs and fish but primarily cats. I have experience from my own cats and also for various clients, I know how to give oral medication and have made executive decisions to take a pet into their family vet during a time of need. I've also informed a client while they were away that their son's pet fish wasn't looking in good shape so they could choose whether to prep their child for when they returned.
