Growing up, I have always been exposed to animals. Whether it be cats, guinea pigs, hamsters, rabbits, or our dog Kirby, animals have always played a large role in my life. When I was in high school I used to look after my neighbors dogs. She had three samoyeds which taught me a fair amount about dogs and care keeping. She taught me how to properly walk a dog and even let me come to the dogs training lessons with her. A few years ago, our family bought our very own dog, Kirby! We adopted Kirby from the SPCA which meant he needed a bit of love and training. Because I had been exposed to my neighbors dog and her learning style from a young age, teaching Kirby new habits came a little bit easier. Through out my life, I have also had many cats. Last year, I was able to look after a 9 week old kitten before it was adopted. Training a kitten is not easy but Winston and I managed to work it out with the tricks and training my parents had used on our cats growing up. It wasn't easy letting Winston go back up for adoption but I knew that the family who would look after him next were going to be very lucky and happy with their new playful kitten!
