Need a reliable, dog-loving pet sitter to take care of a large (100-lb) dog (Zeus) who is awaiting transport from St. Thomas to mainland USA. Person needs to have access to reliable phone service and needs a car. Need someone to get Zeus from current caretaker, take him to Imperial Vets or SPCA to get health certificate, and care for him until we can find transport off the island. Zeus is a 2-year-old pit bull but is gentle and has had emotional-service-dog training. He is with a local resident in Charlotte Amalie. Could take several days to arrange for the switch between caretakers because his current caretaker is difficult to reach--which is why we need a new caretaker. Zeus has already missed a couple of chances to get home because we could not reach current caretaker, so reliable communications are essential.
