Your Dog Smiles Pet Services is looking for pet loving individuals to join our team as a professional pet sitters. Job Description: Reliable individuals who are comfortable handling a variety of pets, primarily dogs and cats, between the hours of 7am-10pm. We also are looking for individuals for overnight pet care, staying at a clients home for 12 hours straight starting between 7-10pm through the following morning. Areas we are currently hiring: Vienna, McLean, Falls Church, Alexandria, Herndon, Chantilly/South Riding, Great Falls, Reston, Sterling, Ashburn, Leesburg, Fairlakes/Fairfax and Arlington. Basic Qualifications and Requirements: *Have availability for the position you apply. *Genuinely love and have experience caring for dogs, cats and other small pets. *We ask for a 6 month commitment with the same availability at minimum, with year or longer preferred. To much change can cause a pet anxiety. *Be in good enough physical condition that you are able to handle walking 2-10 miles per day in varying weather conditions. (Rain, Snow, Hot, Cold) *Properly walking a dog on leash. *Be over 18 years of age. *FRIENDLY personality!!! *Great communication skills as we communicate with our clients DAILY through notes, email and phone. *This job requires attention to details, attention to direction, organization and time management. So please carefully read the details below. *Sorry your kids and pets may not join you on your visits. *Pet CPR - If you do not have a certification, YDS offers it at a reduced rate. (Regularly $69 YDS Discount $35) *Applicants should also have daily internet access. Each of our sitters must complete our interview process and pass a criminal background check before they can begin our training program. ($30) Compensation on average is about $11-18 per hour and up. Sitters who have been with us for a longer period of time 6months to 1 year and longer make an average of $22 and up per hour. We hire all of our sitters starting as Independent Contractors. After a proven commitment level your Independent Contractor status can turn into an employment position in which you may qualify for health insurance benefits.
