Pet Sitter Job in Crossville, Tennessee

We need a regular sitter for house sitting and pet sitting for durations ranging from one to ten overnights. This would be caring for our pets in our home. Please do not apply if you have pets or children or both of your own to care for. We are looking for someone who can devote his or her attention to caring for our pets when they are on the job. Please do not apply if you have another job. We are looking for someone to watch our home and care for our pets while we are away, not just drop in once in a while. As a practical matter, this means the most likely candidates are retirees, of which there are a lot in Crossville! We are also willing to pay for additional services while you are here, such as housekeeping, watering indoor and outdoor plants, and things like that, all subject to negotiation and agreement. We will want to meet with you in your home or apartment first. No, not a so-called "neutral" meeting place. Your home. We need to see how responsible you are with taking care of your own place. If you can't take care of your own place then we can't very well trust you to take care of ours. If this seems scary to you, we understand. Plan on having a body guard there at the same time if that will make you feel safer. We will also require references, eventually, but only after the first meeting in your home. We will run a background check. If you have a history of even one criminal offense, then either do not apply or be prepared to explain what happened in advance. If you don't tell us about it in advance and THEN we find out about it, that is an automatic disqualification. We will also be asking you questions about religious beliefs, politics, values, interests. You may not think they are relevant, but we do. Your system of beliefs and values says a lot about who you are. If this bothers you, do not apply. If you do not have any set of beliefs whatsoever, you might not be mature enough for this job. This is a job that could easily lead to other things. We run a business and are always looking for good help (which is hard to find). You might turn out to be a good fit for other things besides petsitting. At the moment we do have a regular sitter but sometimes she is not available. You would be applying as backup petsitter but, like I said, it could lead to other things. We have been thinking about hiring a receptionist for M-Th 9-4, for example. We have not been trying real hard, but if the right person comes along we might just do it.
