Whether they are Big, Small, Short or Tall we Love them all! When someone says that a dog is a man’s best friend; I believe that is true. I have cared for animals all my life from dogs to reptiles. The feeling of unconditional love is very special. I believe that animals help us in many different ways and a home is not a home without a pet. However, it never occurred to me that I could work with animals and making a difference in a K9’s life on a daily basis as a career. It was then when I met my mentor and friend, Pam and started working for her dog walking company called Eat, Prey, Love as a dog walker in 2014 where I continue to learn new things about dogs every single day. Shortly after working with Pam, I decided to establish a dog waking and boarding business of my own called K9 Trails & Waggin’ Tails. My passion for animals motivated me to expand my knowledge and return to school for Vet Tech in the near future so that I can help animals and save lives. The start of K9 Trails & Waggin’ Tails was inspired by my partner’s dog, a Rottweiler named Mjay, who was very overweight. Her weight was having a negative affect on her physically and her personality. I took it upon myself become her coach and change Mjay’s quality of life. The vet informed us that she needed to lose 20-25 lbs. In order to reach our goal the two things that we needed to change was her diet and excerise. Her daily schedule consisted of feeding her twice a day at the same times with only 30 minutes to eat and exercising her for one hour three times a day. Within the first three months she shaved off the pounds until she weighed 90 lbs. Her over all well-being improved and she was a happy dog ready to go on adventures with me. It brings me such fulfillment and joy to be able to help and work with dogs on a daily basis. I believe that a dog is not JUST a dog but it’ s a lifetime companion and part of the family. I also believe that a healthy K9 is happy K9 by making a healthy life style a priority. At K9 Trails & Waggin’ Tails we want the best for your companion by making them feel like they are a part of our family and creating positive changes in their lives. In addition we want to keep you feeling worry free knowing that your K9 is safe and having tones of fun when you can’t be there. We make it our mission to provide a place where they can socialize with other dogs and get lots of exercise!
