Pet Sitter in Halifax, Nova Scotia

I love being around animals of all shapes and sizes, taking care of them through my life has been very rewarding. Although i\'ve never had the opportunity to work with animals in a paid environment before I have a plethora of experience with my own pets as well as with the pets of friends and family. I work most comfortably with dogs and cats of any breed, but also have owned rodents, fish and helped take care of reptiles as well. I am very comfortable feeding, walking, grooming, training, and playing with dogs of all ages. I have never had the opportunity to have paid experience with pets of any kind but I been fortunate enough to have owned and cared for many animals in my own home, as well as in the homes of friends and family. I love all animals and thoroughly enjoy caring for them in many ways but unfortunately since I am a student living in an apartment building, the amount of pets I can own is limited so I would love to help care for others. I have owned 4 dogs over the years (a Pyrenean Shepherd, two Cocker Spaniels and a Border Collie) and have helped to train, housebreak, feed, walk and care for them all. I have also pet sit for a family friend on multiple occasions for her two Jack-Russell Terriers, one of whom needed intensive care because he is completely deaf. I am open to working with dogs of all shapes, sizes and ages. The more the merrier! I own a cat, and have groomed, fed, lived with and played with him for years. It is definitely a full time job keeping him entertained enough so he doesn’t get bored and knock over all my mugs, but he supplies me with warm purrs and occasionally catches mice to show his loyalty to me in return. Other animals I have owned and taken care of include; guinea pigs, birds (budgies and cockatiels), mice, rabbits and fish. I have also had the opportunity to help care for a friend’s lizard while he was away for a couple weeks, feeding it, cleaning the cage and giving it attention while he was gone. The same friend also owned three ferrets that I cared for during the same time, playing with them, cleaning their cage, training them and feeding them was a full but rewarding job as they were so friendly and fun.
