My name is Joan. I am 20 years old and I want to eventually pursue a career working with animals, perhaps as a kennel assistant or independent dog walker. I love being around pets and keeping them occupied and content. I just moved here from Southern California and I want to find an employment that I can enjoy and be happy doing. Not that working with animals doesn't have its downsides, but I believe that if you are involved in a career or job that you truly are compassionate about, it's not a job but a past time that you get paid for. I myself own a Boxer and a pet rat back in California, as well as a thoroughbred mare named Katie. Unfortunately, right now I just have a cat that hangs around the house. In the past I have owned a variety of animals; dogs, cats, birds (parakeets), reptiles (snakes, lizards, frogs), rodents (rats, hamsters, guinea pigs, rabbits), and more. Furthermore, I volunteer at the FAPS animals shelter here in Fayetteville, where I walk the dogs, play with the cats, as well as feed and clean up after both of them.
