I am a kind and confident female looking to give pets the comfort and care they need when their family is away from them. I have many years of experience with animals of all species and breed. I graduate in April 2013 with a Bachelors Degree in Animal Health from the University of Alberta. My dream is to go to Veterinarian school because of my passion for animal health. I strive to give the pets the best care and provide them with an environment of enjoyment. My first animal care job began at the age of 16 when I worked for a dog kennel. Working at the kennel taught me the responsibilities of caring for dogs of all ages, breeds and sizes as well as cats of all breeds. My duties included walking the pets, cleaning their kennels and the play yards, feeding the animals and giving them medication. This job gave me the confidence and skill to begin my own mini pet sitting service for my friends and family. Including my time at the kennel, I have been caring for pets for 7 years. This doesn't include my experience caring for my dog since I was a child. I have experience with cats, dogs, reptiles, hamsters and livestock. I am in my last year at the University of Albert obtaining my Bachelors degree in Animal Health with a major in food animals. This has given me the hands on experience with beef and dairy cattle as well as swine. I also work every Saturdays at a mixed animal vet clinic and Sundays at a pet store. I work in the fish department and this has given me plenty of experience to be confident in my ability to care for fish.
