Hello, My name is Amanda Carrier and I am 25 years old. I LOVE animals! I prefer them to people, most of the time. I\'m a little shy when I first meet new people but animals are different. I will always be more then happy to pet sit your precious pets. Personally, I am a cat person but I am also willing to pet sit small dogs (I mean a dog no more then 20 lbs). I grew up with a cat. I got her when I was 5 but alas, I had to put her down last Feburary. She lived a long happy life and I believe we will meet again one day. Now I have 2 cats, a boy and a girl. Plus each of my 3 brothers have a cat as well, all make. So at the moment I live and care for 5 very happy cats. I also regularly read books about cats (behaviour, multiple cat homes, natural health/nutrition, basic first aid). I like to know as much as I can about cats so I can take the best care of them. We also used to have a dog (a big dog who made me nervous but he was sweet). Since he was big, he weighed more then I did and would often accidently push me over when he got excited. That is why I prefer small dogs, they are easier for me to keep in control. However, our dog got cancer and we had to recently put him down. I have not done as much reading on dogs as I have on cats but I do know the basics of caring for a dog. For my services; I can quickly drop into your home to check your pet, I could watch your pet at your home or my home for the day, while you\'re at work or I can petsit your pet overnight or for multiple nights if you decide to go on vacation. Overnight stays can be done at your home or at mine. While I am caring for your pet, I can clip your cat\'s claws (I\'ve never cut a dog\'s nails. I need to learm how to do it), I can brush and demattify your pet, I could also bathe your pet (only with your permission of course. Otherwise I will only use a dry conditioner to moisturize your pet\'s skin/help detangle their fur). If your pet and I will be spending a few days together, I will brush your pet according to their fur length. I can also walk your dog, give your pet any medication he or she may need. I will also feed your pet according to your instructions, just being a bag or container of food labelled with your pet\'s name. If you prefer that I cool their food, that will not be a problem. You can bring me a copy of your pet\'s food recipe or I can use my own. Again, please label the recipe with your pet\'s name so there is no confusion. Of course, I will also play with your pet, feel free to bring some of their favorite toys from home if they come here (Label them with your pets name). I\'ll also be sure to enjoy some quiet time with your pet. I am also a firm believer in positibe reinforcement to \"train\" your pet. When my cats are well behaved or do somethimg good, I reward them with a little neck scratch and a treat. However I di not give my cats more then 3 treats per day and 1 dental treat per day. I do not want to give them health issues by accidently making them obese. If there are treats or rewards your pet enjoys, please explain it to me so it remains rhe same and your pet does not become confused. I am always availible so do not be shy to contact me to take care of your cat or small dog. I sm willing to care for 2, possibly 3 pets at a time, at your home or you may bring your pet(s) to my home. I live in Beaconsfield, in the West Island. I\'m willing to go anywhere in the West Island, which I believe includes Dorval but does not include Lachine towards the east. Towards the West, I will go to Saint-Anne\'s but I won\'t leave the island of Montreal. If you live outside where I am willing to go, you may still contact me for my services but you will have to drop your pet off at my house. **Labelling your pet\'s name is only necessary if your pet is being dropped off at my home.** *I only work with small dogs. 20 lbs. & under* Feed pet (according to pet's parent's instructions) Give pet water Walks (dogs only) Play with Pet Clean Litter Box (cats only) Pet while sitting calmly Clip Claws (cats only) Bathe Pet (if asked by pet's parent) Brush Long Haired Pets Daily Brush Medium Haired Pets Every Second Day Brush Short Haired Pets 2-3 Times/Week Give any Medication (if needed) Reward Pet with Treats when Pet is Well Behaved (a reasonable amount of treats. No more then 3/day unless otherwise specified by pet parent)
