I've always had pets: cats, dogs, rats, etc. Although I've never owned birds, reptiles, etc, I learn quickly and I'm excited to do research about these animals and get the privilege of caring for them. (I did take care of a gecko for a summer and snakes or any other animals do not frighten me.) People have told me that animals seem to adjust to me quickly and I feel like I am pretty good at empathizing and bonding with animals.
