This is why I am perfect for the job. A dog lover in specific and animal lover in general, I have worked at and volunteered at animal shelters and boarding facilities for over 5 years. I have also trained dozens of dogs using the CCPDT guidelines. I graduated from UC Irvine in 2006 with a B.A. Psychology and Social Behavior with a minor in Education. I have had the opportunity to function in a variety of educational settings, canines and children, making it easy to adapt to new situations. My superiors and student's parents (canine students included!) have recognized that I have created constructive changes in play and home lives. My students have learned the benefits of socialization, sportsmanship, personal achievement, and team spirit. My long term goal is to make a career working with animals. As a dog handler, I know about breeds and the best ways to care for them. When it comes to their care I adhere to the code of ethics established by the American kennel club. I understand each breed has its own treatment programs. This goes for food cleaning and exercise. I am also skilled at calming, even the most raucous dog, training them to take orders and behave better through humane and safe methods.
