I have many moons of experience with breeds ranging from Miniature Schnauzers to English Mastiffs - I admit to more years with medium-to-giants than with my littles - and also with our feline bosses, I mean friends. ? I have experience administering oral meds, subcutaneous meds, and injections. I have more limited experience with fish or reptiles but I'm a bright cookie and follow directions well. Guinea pigs, ferrets, hamsters, and rats fall into place below dogs and cats but above fish and reptiles. If applicable, your plants will be healthy when you get home, your garden will be weeded, dog "business" will be picked up, litter boxes clean, mail will be inside, and unforeseen considerations/inclement weather impacts/etc. will be attended to/stabilized by a mature, experienced home owner. I am from St. Louis; moved to NM a couple years ago and Santa Fe a few months ago. For many years I was associated with the epitome of dog people - avid pet owners, they worked with the dogs for Purina, ie the first dog my now 23yr old niece trained is on the Nestle Purina agility team and featured in ads. Not only was I blessed with my furbabies and a sound upbringing in training pups, those years being around professionals was enlightening. My resume shows a very successful career in Inside Sales/Account Management (absolutely understand the importance of Customer Service, meeting your commitments, and exceeding expectations whenever possible) but I'm trying to avoid going back to a cubicle. Did not move to the SW to live the same life! That being said, there's no escaping the pragmatism and somewhat conservative nature that is common to the Midwest. I'm making big changes but I'm very grounded. I live within a mile of The Plaza. I am available for check-ins, dog walking, and overnights. I cannot board at this time. I am comfortable with bathing and brushing but grooming requiring clipping is not my strength. I am fit enough to walk your high energy breed until they can settle in for the day or night and can assist with leash training, also. I am comfortable with any age of dog or cat. Flexible schedule. Last minute bookings are always a possibility so don't hesitate to ask and I am also open to meeting ahead of time and potentially fostering a long term relationship.
