Pet Sitter Job in Somerville, Alabama

Nice to meet you! My name is Julie. I am searching for a dog sitter available in Somerville, Alabama. I'm hoping to chat with a dedicated candidate with mostly full time availability for 8 days in August and October and maybe December. The candidate doesn't have to be here 24/7 but largely would like them here. Generally we avoid leaving during a holiday because we know it’s hard to be away from your family during those times. We have 7 wonderful dogs ranging between 6 and 9 years old, mostly well behaved... all different personalities. They love people. We also have about 7 outdoor cats (some are strays but we do care for them) that need to be fed morning and night. And now that one is permanent he also gets a late night treat with whoever else is around. Might as well call it a third feeding because they eat a lot 😂. The cats and dogs are separated 100% of the time. We have one cat box which they use when it’s ultra cold otherwise they go outside. They are mainly outside but do have an area to go to for warmth. And our permanent one hangs out there. The dogs don't require a tremendous amount of care but need fresh water daily, food bowls kept full as they free feed, treat time in the evening.... and let in and out throughout the day. They do require lots of petting and will want to cuddle and will push each other out of the way for attention :-) We'd actually prefer that you do not engage them in playtime because they can get over excited and out of hand… it is prohibited at this time in groups due to bad behavior. It is an asset if you have some relevant prior experience however it is not necessary to be hired. You do need to be confident and able to let them know who's boss. This job is not for the meek. They listen well but we have very strong personalities and they need that structure. We can be flexible on our dates.
