Hey there - My name is Catherine and I've got two much-adored cats, Kai and Ella. I am looking for a cat sitter preferably with a background/current work as a veterinary technician, as Kai is an older guy with a lot of special needs. This would be for overnight care for various vacations and work trips. Looking For: Someone smart, kind, and reliable with a background as a veterinary technician. Ella is a breeze (no problems) but Kai is an older diabetic kitty, who needs insulin injections, fluids, and various medications. I'm looking for someone who feels comfortable with all of these things and who can also take a blood glucose reading. He is a SUPER easy customer -- I test his blood sugar multiple times a day sometimes and it doesn't bother him at all. He has been diabetic for 9 years so none of this is new to him. He has no problems with injections either (if I forget his insulin, he goes and sits in front of the fridge to remind me--no joke!). He will sometimes spit a pill out or you might have to offer him different foods to get him to eat, but that's about as difficult as he gets. He requires extra patience and someone with a veterinary background who understands how to respond to changes in blood sugar and appreciates how to take care of a cat with multiple health issues.
