Pet Sitter Job in Arcata, California

Hello! I'm Alex, a proud chinchilla owner in Arcata, California. I'm looking to hire a pet sitter who can offer quality boarding services. I am leaving for the summer break on May 12-13th and won't be back till August. I sadly can't bring my chinchilla with me and need someone to keep her for that chunk of time. I'll be paying $400-450 (we can discuss this as well). She is very low maintenance so you don't need to be the absolute best and know a lot about chinchilla care. Responsibilities: - Feeding once a day. A handful of her food is good, she cannot eat fruit or vegetables unless its a dried cranberry, raisin, banana chip, or certain dried flowers that she's given as an occasional treat. - Filling hay bowl. Hay isn't a food source for chinchillas so don't depend on hay instead of her kibble when feeding her. - Cleaning cage once a week. Includes replacing wood chips, rearranging toys, etc. - Providing dust baths once a week. Cannot get wet!! chinchilla fur is not meant to hold any moisture/liquids. - Allowing some out of cage time. I usually allow her to run around for 45 mins- 1 hr 30 mins a day, also make sure there is no items she can eat/nibble on before letting her out. (She has a habit of looking for paper, plastic, and wires to chew on with the main goal of shredding it) Those are the basics of taking care of her. She's also pretty good with people, animals (she's only had experience with small dogs coming up to her cage, but doesn't seem to mind their presence), and loud noises don't bother her too much. I will add she doesn't liked to be picked up, but she does come up to you and will rest on your foot (even sit in your lap if you're sitting on the floor) or let you gently pet or scratch under her chin.
