Pet Sitter Job in Louisville, Kentucky

I'm an
Individual
Nice to meet you! My name is Karin. The pet sitter I had lined up for Christmas travel (Dec 23 - Dec 26) cancelled. I need someone to help with my dog, Blue. We live in Windy Hills. Blue is a ~90-lb black and tan hound. Blue is cautious with new people, so it would be best to meet first if possible. He is a rescue and has turned into a really good dog. He is just big and goofy and still can show effects from the trauma (he came to us with a bald neck from being tied to a tree most of his life). He doesn't go #2 in my yard, so I have to walk him, but he has gone in other people's yards that have kept him. He also does not go #2 every walk. His bathroom habits are just quirky, but he's never had an accident in the house except when we first got him and he had an infection. Blue's routine is to wake up and eat, and then go for about a 30-45 min walk. We both work, so he is home alone for the day for 3 days/week and roams free during that time. He'll eat when we get home and go for another 30 min walk. He sleeps on the couch or on the bed. He hangs out with us wherever we are when we're home. We think he is happiest at home, but he has been fine staying at others' houses, so if that is preferred, we can discuss it. I have had 9 different dogs stay at our house with Blue. He has been fine with all of them. I usually muzzle him to meet them at first, and then make sure both dogs are comfortable before letting them play. He has some food aggression and gets protective of treats like bones, so I just make sure I feed him separately and keep big treats out of the picture while other dogs are around. If you want to keep him at your home and have a dog, we would definitely need to do a meet and greet first just to be sure both dogs are happy. He has shown aggression on the leash with certain dogs, but not all dogs. I am just cautious when walking him and another dog is coming toward us. I do have a shock collar I used for awhile, but I don't really have to use it now except for the light on it in the dark. Send me a message and I'll get back as soon as possible.
