Pet Sitter Job in Winchester, Virginia

Overview: Hi: My name is Deana. I'm looking to employ a pet service provider available in Winchester, Virginia. I am traveling on business from time to time and need someone to stay in my home with my dog, cat and bird. The dog can be left unattended up to 6 hours, so I'm looking for someone with job flexibility during the day who could make sure he gets out for a potty break at some point during the day (he typically goes out when we wake up, midday, early evening, and just before bed. If I am leaving home for several hours (I've been gone up to 6), I take him out just prior to leaving and upon my return as a precaution. Nemo (the dog) is a mini-Australian shepherd and needs to meet and make friends with the pet sitter in advance of my absence. Otherwise he is frightened and defensive. I don't let him off the leash outside because (a) he is fast as lighting, (b) he likes to chase cars, (c) he likes to chase other people's children, and (d) he is territorial about "his" yard. Once he likes someone, he's fine. He'll play fetch as long as you are willing to toss his ball (which I do inside on the carpeted areas, but not on the hardwood). He's had a successful ongoing relationship with two prior pet sitters who - sadly - have moved on to a different college out of the Winchester area. Duties: Feed and water the dog, cat and the bird; brush the dog (and cat, if she lets you); turn on music for the bird; talk to the bird in the morning and if you are around the kitchen, clean the cat litter box. None of my pets have any medical issues. I've got a series of trips coming up this spring and am looking to find someone reliable, tidy, responsible, and responsive.
