My name is Carol but most people call me Care, a nickname I have come to love. I have been an animal advocate my whole life and have never been without pets. Somehow those in need find their way to my door. My current pack of three , all have special needs , one with diabetes requiring two shots a day and blind, one who is 13 and rescued from a puppy mill, and lastly one who had a fall and crushed her spine leaving her paralyzed. Although she had the spinal surgery , she was given a 1 percent chance of ever walking again. Well it is six months later and guess who is on her feet! Through sheer dedication and hard work we have slowly come back to almost whole again. The doctors and therapists at MedVet in Akron are amazed. I tell you this because, one ,I am proud of myself going against the odds , but two , I have the ability and patience for any dog in need. I have worked in private elder care for the last 8years with Parkinson's, ALS , and dementia clients and their pets but my first love has always been the animal world.
