I'm an
Individual
I have been caring for animals my entire life. I have bred as well as rescued and re-homed many dogs over the years. I have cared for a wide range of dogs in all sizes and with many different temperments. I am experienced in dealing with social and seperation anxiety, fear, and aggression in dogs of all ages. I have cared for dogs ranging in ages from birth to senior. There is honestly not much I have not experienced when it comes to caring for dogs. I have a passion for the American Pit Bull Terrier and have had the privilege to learn and study the breed, raise puppies, re-home adults, attend ADBA shows, and see first hand the many different personalities of the pit bull and how breeding and bloodlines do play a major part in the socialization skills of the breed. Unfortuneatly, my children have allergies which include asthma and eczema. Therefore, we are now unable to home the APBT. Through the years, we have found that my kids have no reactions to the hypoallergenic dog breeds. We currently have a male Havanese named Shine and a female Havanese named Mercy. We travel back home to Oklahoma twice a year and have found finding care for my Havanese to be quite the task around here. I want my babies to be around others their size, not 5 times bigger than them, which I have found the large breed dog to be extremely common here in Colorado. I also worried about cats in the house and other allergens that my dogs would bring home from a caregiver's home. Another concern was children in a caregiver's home. I feel comfortable with my own children since they have grown up with small and toy breed dogs, yet children that have only been with large breed dogs caused concern since a small dog is so much more fragile and we all know how kids love to hold those cute bundles of wiggly fur. Another issue I ran into was finding a home with a large yard since my dogs are not use to being on a leash and I didn't feel comfortable leaving them at an apartment with no large area to free roam that was also safe and away from busy streets. I also did not want to leave them at a boarding kennel where they would stay on a cement slab since this was far from what their day to day lives consisted of. Not to mention, prices at these places are insane majority of the time. If you share in my concerns, you've come to the right place. Our home is tailored to those with allergies. I will only care for a hypoallergenic breed, no cats, no other type of animal, no smoking, low scent. I give treats tailored for the small dog size and also sensitive digestive systems. If your dog is given a bath, he/she will be bathed in Noodle & Boo Extra Gentle Hypoallergenic Shampoo. Medications are not a problem. Long hair that needs upkeep is not a problem.
