Hello! My name is Shae and dogs love me! And I love dogs of course! I have always been an all around animal person. I've had pets my whole life; cats, dogs, guinea pigs, geckos, and lots and lots of hermit crabs. My love of animals led me to pursue a degree in animal sciences from Washington State University. I first discovered that dogs were going to rule my life when I walked into a doggy daycare for the first time and found it very very difficult to leave! I then sought out a job at a daycare and my fate was sealed. I moved out of the daycare world and into dog walking a boarding because I wanted the freedom to give each and every dog exactly what it needs. Dogs are all individuals just like humans and do not always fit the “one size fits all” mold that is daycare. I'm here to offer every dog a unique personalized experience. Does your dog have a lot of energy? We will go on long hikes, play fetch in the park, run laps up and down a dog friendly beach. Would your dog love nothing more than to snuggle on the couch 24 hours a day? We will definitely snuggle but we will also get some walks in for a healthy couch potato. Your dogs favorites in its own home where it's the most comfortable. My work experience in a doggy daycare has given me the unique set of skills and experience of all-encompassing dog care. The majority of my work was handling large groups of dogs; encouraging and regulating group play, waste clean up, and also comforting the dogs nervous to be away from family. The groups of dogs ranged from the tiniest of Yorkies to Mastiffs the size of lions, and I loved them all equally. I also have experience with highly energetic dogs in group play and one on one. I have walked dogs of all sizes, breeds, temperaments and ages in groups of up to four. Personally I like to walk dogs solo or just with their usual housemates. I am very experienced in following specific feeding instructions and medication instructions. I am comfortable giving dogs of all sizes pills. I have some grooming experience as well, such as bathing, dematting, nail trims and ear cleaning. Safety will be the most important factor while your pet is in my care. With over four years of experience caring for other peoples pets, I take all precautions. Nothing slips through the cracks. My husband, Erik, has a degree in veterinary technology and will be accompanying me to most meet and greets. He will be there in case of emergency for both your pets and myself. We are both adept at spotting anomalies such as lumps, bumps, limps or lethargy. In worse case scenario Erik would be able to identify if a situation needs veterinary care or not. You can sleep well knowing we are looking after your loved ones! Puppies! Something else that I have gained from daycare is a lot of experience in puppy socialization. I have introduced puppies to other dogs or all ages, breeds and temperaments, and encouraged them discover appropriate ways to play and socialize. I have also been trained in the methods of discovery based dog training by one of the top rated dog training facilities in Oakland, CA. Though I am very knowledgeable on the subject and have worked with many types of dogs, I am not certified. My services in training are offered as reinforcement of basics and potty training for puppies currently enrolled in training, or dogs that have been trained and need regular reinforcement of desirable behavior. Training walks would be discussed upon meeting and rates would depend on your dogs temperament and level of training needed. My style of training is similar to my style of sitting. No one style of training is going to work for every dog and finding the right style for your dog will help your dog learn better and maintain good behavior for longer, especially with a walker reinforcing good manners daily! What my services include: House Sitting: I would come to your home and watch your pets in the comfort of their own home! This in my opinion is the least stressful way to board your pets and all your pets can be cared for together, be it dogs, cats, reptiles, birds, or even fish. You can also expect daily photo updates on your loved ones, and come home to a clean house. I also have a green thumb and would be happy to water plants. In-Home Visits: I would come by and visit your pets during the work day for midday feeding, midday medications, midday potty breaks, or even just midday love and affection. In home training is also available for potty training, etc. This service also includes in home nail trims, baths, or a dematting. Does your pet panic all the way to the vet or groomer? Eliminate this stress by having these services done in your own home! I even have a nail trim trick guaranteed to never harm your dog! Walks: I offer walks for up to an hour, and these walks are not just another walk! With me dogs will enjoy hikes, fetch on the beach, play and socialization at dog parks, and also love and affection! Every dog likes different activities so the nature of walks would be discussed upon meeting. I also offer training walks tailored to suit your dogs specific needs. Training walks are especially helpful for puppies learning leash manners! Services needed will be discussed and tailored to your pets needs upon meeting. Rates for extra services such as training and grooming will also be discussed upon meeting. Other types of pets! I have a lifetime of experience with most types of pets. Dogs, cats, rodents, and reptiles. I have no problem with food that moves such as mice or crickets! No squeamish sitter here. Snakes are one of my favorite non furry critters to cuddle! I do not have direct experience with birds or fish, however I am very detail oriented and can follow care instructions for almost any pet, even the most rare and exotic. I have cleaned up after grizzly bears ;)
