I grew up in a home where pets were always a part of life. My father raised & sold beagles. My siblings & I taught them socialization skills from the time they opened their eyes. We also raised & sold checkered giant rabbits. I loved handling them. I had several cats as pets also. We raised Bantu roosters & sold them also. I had a poodle that I raised from a puppy when I was twelve. I had him til I had to find him a home when I got married & wasn't permitted to have pets. I moved to a trailer & adopted a rat terrier & I had her til her passing from old age. I adopted a Shih Tzu when my father passed suddenly from a heart attack. He helped me deal with my grief. I had him for fifteen years until his death from cancer.
