My name is Courtney Chirdo and I'm the proud owner of a 4 year old German Shepherd named Frankie and the owner of One of the Family Pet Services in Oceanside, CA. I started my business when I decided I wanted to go to school to be a dog trainer. This decision came about after a year of volunteer work with Southern California German Shepherd Rescue (SCGSR), that helped me realize my love and zeal for helping animals. I am on track to graduate from Animal Behavioral College by the end of year. Currently I am doing dog walking and pet sitting in my spare time to help increase my knowledge and skills around a variety of dogs, but mostly because I LOVE DOGS!!! I am also the volunteer coordinator and the dog walking program coordinator for SCGSR in San Diego. I have been volunteering with the rescue for a year and a half and I have been in these positions of leadership for a year. As the dog walking program coordinator, I lead a group of volunteers every weekend that walk the boarded dogs for SCGSR. I thrive working and volunteering with dogs because I realize that the work isn't about me...it's about helping dogs find good families! It's always about the dog...that's my motto! The inspiration behind the name of my business also comes from my philosophy about dog/human relationships, that our dogs should be treated with the same respect, attention, and love as one of the family!
