When my husband and I first purchased a nest camera, one of the biggest surprises we uncovered was how heartbroken our Sheltie would become after we left the house for work. It was eye opening to see how much she missed us, and made me realize there had to be other dogs coping with the same emotions! I knew I had to make a change to be the best pet caregiver possible. The solution was a no-brainer; by petsitting, our Penny could be kept company, and so could other local pets while their families are away! My husband (Brandon) and I were both fortunate to be raised in households shared with cats and dogs. We’ve learned the responsibility and effort that goes into looking after companion animals, and currently care for three of our own; a 5-year-old Sheltie (Penny), a senior orange tabby (Loki), and an adolescent torbie (Lena). Our pets are extremely friendly, but it is worth noting they can be shy (or spooked) by a new friend with INTENSE energy and enthusiasm. Gentle animals would be the best match for our home. Our three-bedroom home has a fenced backyard, and is located nearby Sonoma State University. Lovely campus trails and local parks are less than 10 minutes away, and great for dog walks! As part of a Coast Guard family, I have looked after Brandon’s shipmate’s kittens, cats, puppies, and even senior dogs throughout the years! For animals on medication, I have familiarity administering oral medication and eye-drops. If there is anything extra-special your pet needs, just let me know and I will do my best to accommodate.
