Pet Sitter in Dallas

I have a particularly special love for dogs and have spent innumerable hours trying to learn to understand them entirely and holistically. I think the body language of a dog is incredibly crucial for dogs to really communicate with humans and other animals. bridging that gap of communication and understanding is extremely important for peaceful and productive advancement. I try to "speak" and "listen" to animals in a real and meaningful way, trying to integrate their native "language" and seeing/feeling an animal's perspective. Empathy is a profound thing that many dogs possess innately, and that we can match. Therefore, I feel all dogs are interesting and worthwhile of our attentions and effort, and believe strongly in rehabilitation for abused/problem pets and training with positive reinforcement. More about me: I am a jack-of-all-trades type. I am a budding engineer and musician by trade, but I will always devote my time to the care and rights of animals. I have participated in volunteer programs since I was a teenager, and have cared for many types of animals, including wild animals, abused animals, and animals with acute or chronic illness. I have personally rehabilitated or fostered: dogs, cats, snakes, ferrets, lizards, turtles, rats, mice, hedgehogs, guinea pigs, birds (parakeet to cockatiel in size), and a couple humans along the way. i participate in animal rights movements and have been involved with shutting down crooked and neglectful pet stores and puppy mills. I am comfortable with almost all animals, including big dogs, but will not hesitate to address any issues if they arise. I have a car with a pet-oriented vinyl sling/seat cover in my backseat devoted to transporting animals safely and cleanly in my vehicle - long trips to the dog park or other pleasant locales are easily within my ability. i have some experiences de-escalating any canine conflicts and I will remove myself and the dog from the park if there is any aggression shown towards my charge. I simply do not trust some people's dogs to behave. I do not sit on my phone the entire time either -- I don't even let my dog out of my sight, and I try to stay within close distance for our entire visit. I like to know what I can about a dog's personality so I can mentally prepare, but other than that, I feel I am very adaptable. I don't mind grumpy or problem pets, and if you are using any training methods, I would really like to know so I can keep the consistency in the dog's routine. Consistency is key for dogs to understand what we want from them, and I would be happy to share any advice or answer questions on my opinions on training animals. I do not believe in "dominance" and aggression theories - dogs are intelligent and they know you are a human, not another dog. The pack mentality of canines is greatly misunderstood - it is much more like a family than a hierarchy. I love all breeds and am a determined advocate against the prejudice and mistreatment of Pit Bulls and mixes. To the physical extent that I can, I always provide the same consistent care with respect to all types and breeds. My experience administering medication and special care I am quite comfortable administering medication to an animal and familiar with many common animal prescriptions, including their dosages, side effects and interactions with other . I have a well-established relationship with several veterinarians from emergency clinics to FDA certified specialists who are always willing to provide advice and sound treatment for me and my friends. I am attuned to monitoring an animal for any warning signs, and quite aware of how quickly health can turn. My dog and beloved companion passed away recently, after a month of battling total hind limb paralysis and spinal surgery. His nerve damage did not heal and his body turned against him. However I was absolutely dedicated and prepared to care for him the rest of his life as a disabled animal, immersing myself in research and following through for his new-found needs. I believe we should be just as kind to all animals as we should to other humans.
