Pet Sitter in Springtown, Texas

I'm an
Individual
HELLO! Thank you for checking my page! I am looking for a pet sitting professional job in Springtown, Azle, Boyd, Fort Worth, Denton Texas or surrounding areas. I am look forward to working with both the people and animal element of any family! Available now. SUMMARY: I have experience with all animal sitting, feeding, grooming, exercising, administering medication, and training. DOGS: I have worked professionally as a dog trainer for over 3 years, both in a facility and in a freelance capacity, I am comfortable with dogs of all breeds and have showed successfully in rally obedience with my personal dogs. I have successfully trained a service dog (though this is not a service I am offering currently). I also have many years of fostering experience and have had the opportunity to live with and work with dogs of all personality types and varying needs. In high school I showed in agility, showmanship, conformation, obedience, and tricks as a 4H student. I currently own a senior terrier mix (Rico-30 lbs) and a shepherd/labrador mix (Gromit-80 lbs), and live with two other trainers. We always have both show dogs and rescues here! Some of our permanent crew include four papillons-one of whom is a national agility qualifier (pretty good for a dog that's barely 7 pounds!), some good ol' lab mixes, and a cattle dog! Excellent at understanding dog body language, as well as managing many different personalities and needs within a household. I put a premium on kind, positive, and understanding training practices, it is my priority to keep every animal happy, engaged, and SAFE. HORSES: I have LOTS of experience working at various horse facilities for over 8 years, handling foals to studs and everything in between. Experienced with green horses, I know how to give medicine, load, pony, exercise, train, feed, lunge, tack up, groom, muck, turn out, ride, and identify a horse that is ill or injured. I have trained horses from pasture puff to fully broke. Comfortable with all horse types, I have worked with mustangs, thoroughbreds, warmbloods, drafts, quarters, gaited horses, and so on. I have also shown successfully and competitively in western pleasure, trail, showmanship, and halter. While my riding has focused in western, I have worked extensively at english facilities and am comfortable riding, training, exercising, tacking, and managing both styles. I have taken well over 10 years of riding lessons, and done a number of workshops focusing on positive training and advanced riding. Extensive experience meeting farriers and vets and managing animals through that process without assistance. I showed with the University of North Texas Equestrian Team for three years and acted as the vice president for one year, during which we were recognized as the top student organization at the university. I put a premium on kind, positive, and understanding training practices, it is my priority to keep every animal happy, engaged, and SAFE. FARM: I have provided full time farm sitting on multiple occasions. This includes staying on property and supervising, feeding, rotating, etc. pigs, cows, goats, sheep, and chickens. I am always happy to work with livestock of any kind, and have seen many different setups and care styles. I firmly believe that every farm/ranch/household is different and has different things that work for them. I am happy to work with your routine and arrangement, and am comfortable managing various groups of animals. I have made emergency vet calls in instances where animals fall ill or injure themselves in normal farm activity. I always discuss preferences for emergency management before I take any job, and am always as much in communication as is possible with the owners , but have been in situations where I could not get the owners on the phone and am comfortable making decisions in line with those preferences when needed. EXOTICS: I am an experienced fish and exotics keeper, having successfully maintained community, saltwater, freshwater, and solitary fish tanks and ponds. I personally keep several tanks and take great joy in keeping healthy, happy, beautiful fish. Very experienced with live plants and various different setups. I have also kept rat, hamster, mouse, gerbil, and guinea pig enclosures. All of my rodents have been litter trained, and I pride myself on ensuring they have the most appropriate setups and enrichment opportunities. I have worked with birds of all kinds, from parakeets to macaws. I have kept snakes, lizards, frogs, tarantulas, millipedes, and praying mantises. I have cared for turtles in both indoor and pond setups, and have worked with many more reptiles and inverts than I have owned. My greatest achievement is keeping all of my exotics well over their standard life expectancy and building wonderful relationships with each of them. All of my exotics with the exception of my first rat have been rescues or rehomes, so I am comfortable working with adults and taking everything at their pace, as well as understanding that the relationship with each animal is unique. ADDITIONAL: I have also worked for 3 years as a nanny/tutor/housekeeper, and am comfortable working with children as well as tackling household duties should that be a service you would benefit from. Some of the work I have done includes picking up and taking to school, ensuring household chores get done, making meals or snacks as necessary, supervising pool/play/riding, managing screen time, resolving sibling conflicts, tutoring all levels of english and history/social studies, tutoring up to pre-cal in math, helping with projects, and generally spending time with children. As a nanny I am used to being flexible about what my job role is, and have done a number of unusual job activities such as help move and build furniture, drive to and from the airport, file paperwork, run errands, etc. I have done many overnight housesitting and babysitting jobs, and am open to this again. WHY ME? I am reliable, have never been absent, and am always willing to learn. I am a graduate student in political science at UNT, and am taking my final courses online, this gives me a lot of freedom in my schedule to work with yours! Happy to work with someone who would like to build a relationship and gain a trustworthy addition to their animal care routine, or with someone who needs only minimal/one time assistance. Further, I have a drivers license. I HAVE CARED AND AM PASSIONATE ABOUT ANIMALS OF ALL TYPES. CONTACT: Shoot me a message at 817-673-... or [email protected] and I'll respond ASAP, please leave a voicemail if you would rather call than text!
